Hiking through the dense spruce forest of the Monongahela in late autumn is quieter than usual. Not a bug, not a bird to be heard. But you do hear something. A distant hum, mechanical in nature. As you crest a hill, you see yellow light leak through the trees. The light comes from sodium vapor lamps outside an old church. The humming comes from an old HVAC unit around the back of the building. But the church is boarded up, the doors and windows covered. So why is it getting power?

Another prop for a scene in progress. Keeping with my pursuits of telling story with texture. Keeping the labels and such simple but worn, peeled away and dirty gives some age and hints at interaction but it could still be pushed further. I haven't finished the foliage I'm working on for this scene but it would be nice to update this when I do to put it on a patch of ground as well.
